Although the flavour profile of dark roasts are stronger and more robust, during the roasting process coffee beans expand. Organic, defined simply, is food produced without using chemical fertilizers, pesticides, or other artificial agents.

The best way to keep ground coffee or whole beans fresh is to store them in the original sealed package then once opened store the coffee in a opaque airtight container away from light, heat, and moisture.

Our premium beans are sourced from South America, Central America, Africa and Indonesia.

Coffee oils are naturally brought out during the roasting process. The darker the roast, the more likely the beans are to release their oils.

If you are a fan of darker roasts like our French Colombian or Deep Water Dark, we recommend cleaning your brewing equipment frequently to avoid excessive oil/coffee build up.

COMPOSTABLE POD FAQs

Compostable pods are made with plant-based materials. The unique pod design includes a lid, ring and filter that are all Certified 100% Compostable by the Biodegradable Products Institute (BPI). In fact, the ring is made partially from recycled coffee chaff (the skins that come off the coffee beans during roasting).

Currently we are selling 12ct, 20ct pods in case formats (6 x 12ct) or (6 x 20ct).

If you are looking for individual boxes, you can purchase them directly through www.amazon.ca or at your local grocer.

Like many packaging products that require barrier properties (cereal, chocolate, dairy etc.). We are working with our supplier to find a solution that is more environmentally friendly. We have been advised by them that a full compostable/recyclable wrapper in underway with their R&D department, but it will take time to come into product. We are looking forward to announcing this change!

Once you’re finished brewing your coffee, you can compost the entire pod (without breaking it apart), simply by placing it in the food waste container used in your community such as a green bin (check locally – where accepted). The pod will break down to healthy compost that helps new things grow!

Jumping Bean compostable pods work with the vast majority of Keurig® Classic and 2.0 K-Cup® brewing systems.

BPI® (Biodegradable Products Institute) is an association that was established to provide testing, education and promotion of compostable products. BPI® ensures that any product that carries its logo meet the ASTM D6400 standard and specifications required to be compostable.
